THE  35th NARRAGANSETT ART FESTIVAL

Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25, 2017

 

WHO: 100 to 105 Exceptional Fine Art Exhibitors from South County, Rhode Island, New England, and Beyond!

 

Accepted categories of non-functional fine art include: Oils & Acrylics, Watercolors & Pastels, Drawings & Graphics, Photography, Sculpture, and Other/3-dimensional Media

  • Reproductions featuring prints of artist’s original work are allowed. Note cards of artist’s original work are allowed provided they do not exceed one-quarter of total work displayed.
  • Prohibited Items: Crafts or craft-like items, Clothing of any kind, Home Furnishings, Pottery, Jewelry, Imports, Sun-catchers or small glass items, Trinkets or hand-painted items, Mass-produced items.   No dealers, agents, proxies, or vendors are permitted.

 

WHAT: A volunteer managed non-juried outdoor FINE ART ONLY festival event sponsored by The Rotary Club of Wakefield, now celebrating our 35th year!

 

WHEN: Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25  9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Set-up: Friday, June 23, after 4:00 pm

 

WHERE: Veterans’ Park at the historic “Towers”, overlooking Narragansett Beach 35 Ocean Road, Narragansett, RI 02882

  Deadline: May 26, 2017   Late applications accepted to June 16, with late registration fee of $35.00, pending spaceavailable.

 

WHY: Dedicated to providing artists with a well-managed, high-quality, well publicized event. Net proceeds from artists’ registration fees support the scholarship program of the Wakefield Rotary Club, providing three 4-year scholarships each year to graduates of South Kingstown, Narragansett, and Prout High Schools, as well as a 2-year technical school scholarship. 

 

REFUNDS: Refunds for cancelation by the artist allowed upon request before May 26.  Partial refunds allowed by request before June 16.  No refunds after June 16, for inclement weather or other conditions for which the Rotary Club has no control.     

 

PARKING: Parking is not provided to artists but is usually available on selected side streets and Ocean Road on a first-come basis. Artists are provided with a vehicle ID display card for identification by Rotary volunteers and traffic officers.  All artists are solely responsible for their own parking arrangements as well as any tickets or fines for illegal parking.  Warning - Do not park at the Coast Guard House or Trio Restaurants.

 

AMENITIES: Overnight security – Friday & Saturday nights (11:00 pm to 6:00 am) by off-duty Narragansett PD officers; Rotarian volunteers to assist with booth set-up & take-down, unloading & loading; Booth sitting; Free coffee & bottled water; Comprehensive promotion efforts, including links to participating artist websites

                                 

NOTEWORTHY:  Invited food vendor; Three portable restrooms (one handicap accessible) with hand-wash station; Public shade tent(s) provided; Signs posted re: photography of artists’ work prohibited; Beautiful location overlooking Narragansett Bay; Trash receptacles placed throughout the field; Vehicles NOT allowed on field
