Glen grew up in Nashua, NH and joined the Navy after one year at Lowell Tech. He served as a radioman and upon discharge he worked at Sanders Associates, an electronics firm in NH. While working there, he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and obtained a barber’s license, then opened a hair salon. He went back to college and received his degree in Business from UNH. Glen’s career kept evolving. He started advertising his salon in a Merrimack, NH newspaper, then started his own advertising newsletter, and when the newspaper in Merrimack failed, he took it over. His consulting started in the early days of personal computers when he used to help other business people with their computing needs.
Glenn joined Rotary in 1994 in Merrimack, NH. He helped the club raise money by organizing a Christmas tree sale and soon was elected club president. He met Beth Leconte through Rotary, became friends with her, and eventually started dating her. At the time, Beth was the local YMCA director, but then she took the position of director at the South County Y and moved to Wakefield. They were married on a sailboat in 2002. For a while, Glen commuted from New Hampshire to Rhode Island every weekend, until he decided to give up the newspaper and open his own consulting firm, Granite Road Associates. In this business, he assists other small business owners with their bookkeeping, primarily through QuickBooks.
Glenn has a daughter, Alexis, who lives in Sarasota, Florida and is a real estate broker and member of the local Rotary Club. He and Beth have a golden retriever, Bailey. He loves living in South County and has no desire to move back to New Hampshire.
